Category: Entrepreneur Hall of Fame

CONNECT Presents
THE ENTREPRENEUR HALL OF FAME AWARDS
Peter Preuss to be honored with CONNECT’s highest award – the Entrepreneur Hall of Fame.

Program Overview:
Join CONNECT for our prestigious Hall of Fame Luncheon honoring computer software pioneer and philanthropist Peter Preuss. Hall of Fame brings together San Diego’s biotech and high tech leaders and educators to honor individuals who have achieved distinction in their career for founding, leading or advancing a San Diego life sciences or technology-based business or organization. Such entrepreneurs have contributed to the business sectors that shape our local economy, improve our quality of life and continue to inspire future generations of innovators and entrepreneurs.

An expected sold-out audience of 250 will celebrate the achievements of this visionary leader. Peter will tell his story through a live interview with Cox’s 4 San Diego anchor Jane Mitchell. Peter created revolutionary change in the computer software industry as president of Integrated Software Systems Corporation (ISSCO) which he founded in 1970. ISSCO software transformed computing by giving businesses the capability to do complex graphics without the need for professional programmers. Peter built ISSCO into the nation’s leading independent maker of computer graphics software for mainframe and mini-computers. As a community builder, he created The Preuss School to educate and inspire today’s underprivileged students into becoming tomorrow’s innovators. As a philanthropist he has been instrumental in the development, growth and success of such organizations as CONNECT, The Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute (formerly Burnham Institute for Medical Research) and The Preuss Foundation for Brain Tumor Research (among many others). Preuss was appointed to a full term as Regent of the University of California in 1996 and his professional, civic and community impact has been extensive. Please join us in honoring him for his achievements.
